Hi - I see someone has posted link detailing the build of my little project. I did join this forum a while back to post direct but the forum masters never approved so not sure if it ever got to them.

Happy to post pics once built and vids of riding, but I believe I need to be approved by forum runners first.

ok - very briefly - it went from complete bike Dubai to UK, stripped down to engine to build back up to current pic. I reckon next two weeks we shall see complete bike. Plenty more on link above. Happy to field questions as sharing this story is a big part for me. Glad it has been warmly received. Just itching to ride her - though a blessing it has been away at this time, as gave me time to have surgery and fully recover from arm pump on both arms and all four compartments!

Just so I not kidding either.... Last time I rode my R I had to come in after 5 mins as arm pump was so bad - couldn't even take my glove off; decided enough was enough had suffered for a few years but knowing the bike I was to build was coming could not risk having her and not riding her. The surgery was a killer and took it out of me, but I am now back in the gym, working out and lifting heavy and the arms are much better. Final test will be the maiden voyage with option 1 of 9 chosen on electronic controls ha ha!

^ The wheels are the actual OZ wheels that go on the Ducati WSBK and I know this cause they were taken from them - so are alu not mag but not much heavier and actually lighter once the slicks are on; In fact the whole front end is same as WSBK - same calipers, discs, etc; there is a difference in the forks - mine are motogp and bigger in diameter; the wsbk uses smaller diameter; yes, proper Pirelli slicks SC1 compound as used in BSB/WSBK.

Work in progress:

Brembo WSBK F014 calipers (these things are amazing - and weigh nothing!); Purpose built 320mm T drive 6mm full floating discs (Brembo made this specific for my bike) including offset for wheel. The cool thing about this set up is it's quick release wheel spindle and chamfered inside edges so I just turn, pull and wheel releases without having to undo anything else like calipers etc. All of this married to brembo motogp master cylinder and HEL dry brake lines. Lots of other little details too like custom holders for wheel speed sensor etc.

Ride to live

Cheers Carl! Been observing progression of the '1201 Koen' on Ducati Forum. Felt obligated to point SL freaks to your project. Fantastic to see the SQ disassembly for 'superfinish' and 1 ring slugs etc, etc, etc. Magnificence bestowed upon this piece. Thanks for your insightfulness. Where do we send the bib invoices? ....[^8
Wishing you the best results post~fasciotomy! Here's a link that I found informative regarding systemic approach rather than target-training for optimal recovery, etc. Multi-perspectives are always benificent in addition to the top hands which assuredly enhance and guide you.

Arm Pump - Racer X Virtual Trainer
Dealing with Total foot and ankle reconstructions due to congenital defects here. Sidelining is never permanent for we who Must ride to truly live.
May I enquire as to your track-suited lading weight and subsequent suspension and spring supplements both front and rear, if any? (Please disregard if you are within the engineers target 72+/- kgs?)

^ Hi Dirck - many thanks for the note and link to arm pump! I actually found this a while back and it is a very good article, with superb advice. I obviously won't know if the surgery has helped until I ride; indications show it is better but time will tell. I am also out cycling a lot too. I will over come it - not matter what - as I did when I had it in my legs 10 years ago!

I am over 72kg with suit etc but don't know suspension settings until I get bike back from UK.

Watching this thread with interest!!!

Reckon the kids inheretence is better spent on me copying your route than sitting in a slush fund ;)

I wish you a speedy recovery after your surgery as well, bruising looks painful!!!

^ Hi W17 - have read your threads with a lot interests.

Radiator is from:

MB Motor Sport - Costruzione parti radianti per competizioni - it's the closed pressured system which went on the F013 wsbk (the F014 is different); attached pic shows system being plugged in.

This was a crucial mod for me having tracked the R here in Dubai and getting frustrated at the loss of power! So to have all the engine work done to the SL and then lose it would have been rather silly!

I'm in the same boat . Have just added SL pistons cams and inlet valves to my R but the temps run too hot .
I like the look of what you have done . Thanks
