It's a nice piece,
machined from alloy.
Shows the length that Ducati went thru to make this special bike as light as possible.
(they only saved 9 grams)
Plus it's the only way to show-it-off, because most owners/people will never see it under the bodywork…
I like it so much, I just ordered one for my Naked/streetfighter 999R, so it can be seen.

I received mine a couple days after OP. I also got a phone call from Ducati months ago confirming my address and everything, so it sounds like they've had (at least the idea of) these lined up for a while.
