This is my first Ducati so excuse me. What does Ducati mean in their owners manual when they say open and closed for the suspension settings.Which way is softer/firmer.And not to sound too ignorant but for the preloaded adjustment when the book says "to increase preload" do they mean increase the stiffness or the sag? Thanks.

I don't see where the manual uses open and close to describe suspension damper settings, Perhaps you're confusing the opening of the menu to access and change the settings.

The dampers have click settings that you access via the menus. By increasing the click setting you decrease the hydraulic damping, by decreasing the click setting you increase the hydraulic damping.

Increasing spring preload has the effect of raising the ride height — or said another way — decreasing the sag.

Increasing or decreasing spring preload has no effect on the spring stiffness.

Again, increasing or decreasing spring preload has no effect on the spring stiffness.
