So.... Purchased a 2013 848 SF back in July and its been running great up until very recently.

ODO currently stands at just under 6000km's so its not exactly old or run down. In fact, bike has been immaculately cared for by previous owner.

In the past two rides the bike has been stalling after down shifting through gears and engaging the clutch on approach to intersections. This is the only time it has been happening.

No other noticeable faults with the bike other than this. RPM at stall point when clutch is engaged can sometimes be around 4,000rpm.

Has anyone here experienced something similar? Am I going to have to get the bike remapped or should I just try and change my riding style? (the later doesn't really make all that much sense as it didn't really happen start to happen until after about a dozen rides and a few months past.

I had a similar problem with my 13 SF 848. I removed the evap canister and reset the computer. problem solved.

Hi Mate,

Thanks for the info. Is this something you can do from a home work shop or did you take in to your local Ducati shop?
I'm in Perth, WA. and there isn't really a Ducati dealer as such - just a few retailers affiliated with Ducati. Not to keen on doing it myself as I'm a novice mechanic but I'm not too keen on taking it to a retailer either.

Any thoughts?

I get this problem, too.

If I can figure out how to reset the computer (RTFM maybe) it seems pretty straightforward to remove the canister and I guess plug a line...

sorry I'm just seeing your reply. The canister you can remove yourself pretty easily and you can remove the lines or just leave them on and tuck them out of sight (what i did).
I had the reset done by the dealer.
this fixed the problem instantly.

How'd you go with sorting out this problem Lethalee? I suspect it had nothing to do with the evap canister as they're not fitted to our bikes in AUS.

You've probably already identified the Perth based Italian bike specialists, but if not, I can point you to them. Used one myself for a tune. Pretty good result.

I just had my fuel pump replaced, wasn't delivering constant pressure when bike got hot. Maybe look into that.
