I had my tricolore with full termi retuned and one of the things they did was increase the CO to 4.5 (richer mix). I notice that the exhaust note is quieter which stands to reason because an lean mix has a really sharp bark to the sound. Doesn't matter to me because the sound is a byproduct of the state of tune. It could sound like a Gold Wing if that's what it took to get the most out of the engine.
Also, for what it's worth, the dealer rode my bike and rode a base 1098. He said that the difference in performance was just incredible. Haven't done it myself but for those of you looking at different exhaust systems You ought to take a hard look at spending the extra $$$ for the full termi. If it's what the Italians came up with you can bet it's the best system out there. Those guys are absolutely fanatics when it comes to squeezing the last 10th of a HP out of the engine.
