it looks like a few of you guys have done your own install on your termis, the questions i have are,

did you just "plug" everything in and it worked fine?

in my instructions it talkes about re-initializing the TPS,("this procedure must be performed before starting the engine for the first time after the ECU has been replaced") have guys run it without doing that?

will installing myself void warrenty?

people have talked about if your bike is tuned with the baffles in and you take them out it will run different, the ecu that comes with the slipons, is it programed for baffles in or out?

do you use k&n oil on the air filter?

any other things i should know about ?

its not that im too cheap and lazy to have the dealer do some programming, etc., im just about 2 hrs away from the closest dealer and 4 hrs from the dealer i bought the bike at, thanks for any help

I did my own installation. K&N filter oil should be fine. I did remove the DB killers prior to installation so the ECU could be set with them off as that is how I plan on riding the bike. After the installation, I rode the bike to my nearest dealer and had him set the TPS and CO. I was charged 45 minutes of labor. Don't know about my installing them voiding the warranty and everything did work just fine after the instal.

Pretty much same question here. I read someplace that you need to get the TPS set and some other thing reset before starting your bike after the ECU change. I have the same problem as listed above, I am not cheap, it's just that the nearest service station is 3 hours away riding at a good pace, 4 if I'm pulling the bike in a trailer.
I was also wondering if the ECU change out is actually required or just recommended as if it does need to be reset after installation, I would put the ECU in my backpack and ride down with the slip-ons in the bike already and let the dealer do the ECU and Air Filter when I got there.
Any ideas? Please?

I ran the Termi slipons with stock ecu and bd killers in for about 2 months. Ran fine.
Installed the new ecu with dbs in. ran fine. some say the idle will be hi. mine was not.
Ran it on the dyno in Colorado. Man was it rich. Northern CO BMW Ducati reset the tpi. Still ran fine. No diff.
Got home, took out the dbs, wow! Sounds faster.
Hope that helps. If you want more info, I will try to help.

thats pretty much what i ended up doing, installed the pipes myself, rode it for a month, had the dealer install the ecu at the 600mi. service, no problems, the bike is alot smoother with the new ecu. my dealer left the original air filter in, he said it is about the same as the one that comes with the slip ons, it saved me some service time ($$$), ill probably put in in myself some day when i feel like tinkering.
