I know... I know... SEARCH!!

Well, I did search and I cant really pin this one down.

I just took my 2008 1098 in for its first service and a Termi Slipon install.

I have not had a single stall issue since I got the bike... Until Today!!

On the way back from the dealer I stalled like 5-6 times! All at red lights. I dont get it!? I thought this problem was figured out!

I called the dealer and they said it may be a bad ECU and they will call DNA on Tuesday and check to see if this one is one of the bad ones.

Any suggestions?

The kit you got may have not been "upgraded" with the new ECU. Dealers have been opening up Termi kits and swapping the included ECU. Yours may have not been swapped out just yet, but don't fret. They can check the ECU you have to see if it needs to be swapped out, and if it needs to be, they will do it free of charge. That will cure the stall condition for 9 out of 10 people with the same setup...

My '07 stalled from day one with the slip-ons. A remapped ECU took care of the problem. Over 600 miles without a single stall. Ducati got it to my dealer in Stuart in 3 days. The same should take care of yours.

It also seems to be very slugish or hesitant from idle. Almost like its too rich? Sounds Freakin awesome though! The idle is at 1300rpms. I am not sure but I think this is a little low.

I guess I will know on Tuesday.

had my slipons fitted at 1000kms service, and no stall probs at all. idled nicely at 1350 rpm.dealer rang out of blue and said there was official ducati recall, so bring her in for an ecu change. he swapped my ecu for a 70mm ecu. the dash now says 1098 racing evo, and idle speed is now 1400, not one stall what soever, and no difference in performance. i guess this means i can now update to a 70 mm header pipe if i so desire . cheers paul

If it is hesitating... does it mean that it is running too rich?

From idle if I really grab a handful of her, its like it hesitates or even makes a load popping sound almost like a backfire. I am not sure whats going on but I hope I get some answers on Tuesday...

Cam timing was off on some of the '07's. The slip-ons should't change much tune-wise except the ECU. The slip-ons still retain the exhaust flap and the O2 sensors.

Well I dropped her off at the dealer yesterday and this is what they are saying...

They have to remove the ECU and call DNA with the number off of it. If DNA deems it a bad unit, then they have to send it to them for further testing. Once they recieve it and determine that it is truely defective, they will issue a new one from Italy.

They say that it will be in for an undetermined amount of time.

This really sucks.

I miss her already...

Is this the same place you asked about the clutch?

Oh well, where I live it would not matter much… Summer is over and the days for me riding his year are drawing to a close. I plan on putting my bike away next week. sigh

Mine took ten days—just got her back Saturday. I know what you mean, though, every time I walked into the garage and her three red squares were empty, I almost shed (manly) tears
… I had to learn to drive my car all over again. Good news is, touch wood, she hasn’t so much as hiccupped in ~150 miles!

It's worth the wait. Good luck!

when my ecu was sent out it took 2 days to get a new one. my dealer over nighted it to ducati and vise versa, it should not take an undetermined amount of time that bs. this is a simple procedure that ducati is use to. make your voice heard at your dealer and let DNA know as well.

WOW! You hit it right on the head. I got a call this afternoon saying that it is indeed a bad ecu and they are overnighting it to DNA. I immediately called DNA and they said they will be overnighting one back to them.

I may be able to get her back as soon as this weekend!!

Update: Mine (with slip-ons) stalled with alarming regularity in the first 1000 miles. Got the new ECU and she hasn’t so much as hiccupped in the last 500 miles! Touch wood but I think she’s been cured!
