Hey fellas,

I plan on taking a class at Laguna in July and I was wondering if anyone had used the Termi's with the DB killers on a 1098 without any complaints. The reason I ask is that everyone seems to say that only stock exhaust must be used. If I use the DB killers the noise should be OK, and besides, I can't use the stock cans with the Full exhaust since they have a long piece of pipe welded to them.

Thanks,

Roberto

I had read somewhere that the Termi's without the DB killers were around 102DB. With them, I would think that they are much lower. Laguna's limit is 92DB. I think they'll pass.

However, my concern is that they will be sticklers about using only "Stock" pipes and not let me run even though the noise is ok.

I can only say I think it is much quiter with the dB killers in then the stock exhaust.
Will they send you home for being a do gooder and running quiter after marcket pipes?
I hope not. Good luck.

I've ridden Laguna Seca twice, nobody checks to see if your pipes are stock. Saw some people with loud aftermarket stuff, the meter was on the uphill out of turn 5 and they just stayed off it until they were past it and rode for 2 days that way. Lately I understand they're getting crafty about that and are moving it around the track. If you get meatballed twice they'll bounce you.

It is nor widely known but 92db is the max for Laguna. They are only allowed so many days some are at 90db and some at 92db. They mostly check between turn 5 & 6 but can move the station to other areas.

Different track orgs will not allow aftermarket - it is not Laguna. These orgs have had too much hassle from Laguna about the number of people that fail at the sound booth and are starting to self police so they dont have problems.

I have talked to the guys in Monterey Ducati, and they have had guys run the Termis with baffles and not get black flagged past sound check, and no short shifting.

I rode LS on July 4 with the Code School, ran full Termi system with baffles in, no short shifting, wide open out of turn 5 to the top of 3rd and no meatball.

Ran my full termis with no baffles - WOT and no problem. Keigwins at the Track is generally denying aftermarket exhaust because of problems at Laguna. I removed my Termi stickers from my pipes and had no issues at all.

WOW! Is that the extra transfer port? lol. No really is that because you ran the baffles only or was there a tuning issue that made the metal brittle? Are they gonna replace it for you?
