I have had my 1098 for a few weeks now and the throttle play or slack seems to be excessive. Is there a reason for this or is it ok to adjust it to what I feel is normal for me? If others have adjusted or have a comment it would be appreciated. Thanks

Yep, it's a problem almost everyone seems to have. It can be adjusted, using the adjusters on the cables down by the steering head. The service manual (sort of) tells you how. I also installed new Dan Kyle handlebars, which come with needle-bearings for the throttle control to ride on, which helps as it eliminates some of the inherent jiggling in the stock assembly. They are also multi-adjustable for position, and much stronger and more vibration resistant.

Mine had to be adjusted at the first service along with the headlight aiming. They also replaced the ECU due to the stalling issue.
