Gotta say this is the best app I've found for tuning belts. Its FFT based so the signal strength and quality does not have to be perfect to get an accurate number. IPhone's mic low frequency response/sensitivity, both internal and ear buds sucks. Plus you just cant stuff a conventional microphone/jack into the phone because of Apple's special phone jack it wont work.

The pay-to-work version supports recording so you can twang the belts until your fingers get numb and later review and select the ones that suits best. I find it comforting to collect a bunch of samples and pick the ones with the cleanest looking waveform (sine wave) and signal strength (amplitude).

You can test drive the the lite version for free and decide later if its worth $20 for the full version. It only supports 10 seconds of recording and no file save.

Had a gent from work write a little piece of code for belt tension setup. I just bought a lapel mic and plugged into my laptop. Was tested with frequencies from 50-400 and the accuracy was near perfect. It was written for 32bit W7 machine so if you want a copy send me your email through PM.
