PSI FYI - Michelin Pilot Power Race Medium

Just an FYI for anyone interested. I have heard varying opinions about tire pressure. My techs whom I trust immensely both recommended 30F/28R. I have read elsewhere that it is highly recommended to run the rear between 22-24 max and 29-31 up front.

1st Track Day: very warm, dry and fast, 30F/28R, no issues nor sliding, clean wear

2nd Track Day: very warm, dry and fast 29F/24R, no issues nor sliding, pretty clean wear but with cold tears on the left side of my tire from exiting Turn 12 onto the only Straight at Loudon.

I don't know how much this will help people, but these are my results based on almost identical track days and riding conditions/pace. Hope that helps!

I use a PRC/PR5 on my 600RR and I almost always run 31/21. I know we're talking L-twin 1000 vs. I-4 600, but the tire guys say it doesn't really matter. It works great for me and the tires stick like glue.

I use the PRC front/PR mediums normally on both my 1098S and CBR600RR race bikes, both with the 190/55 rear. Unless there are extreme air/track temperature issues, I always run 22 rear, 31 front, and have found the tires to be exceptionally grippy and consistent.

I had the pr1/pr5 on a 05 636 with 30psi frt and 22psi rears. The frt tires wear normal but the rears were chunking pieces of the tires on both sides. The temp was in the 90-95 degrees so I had the suspension guy look at the tires and he told me to try the medium power race next time instead of the soft.If the temp was 75-85 degrees the soft rubber would've been ideal. I heard the prc's are a great tire and will pick up a set this spring.

I have a set of Pirelli Slicks on my F4 1000 and just about on any track I go I use rear 23 and front 28/30. This is for summer riding. Never a problem (so far) on sliding, high or low siding not anything else. Super tires, super setting...superBIKE!!
