Hi, I am looking to get a trickle down charger for my 95 900 ss and wondering what you guys would recommend?
Not too fussed on price, more worried about reliability and safety.
Preferably something that can be bought and shipped would be good as I am in a rural area. Thanks.

Did some extensive research and spoke with the President of this company in depth about this device. Turned out to be one of the best purchases I ever made. You can literally leave it plugged in all year long with absolutely no damage or anything to the battery! Well worth looking into and if interested send me a msg and I will introduce you two via email on getting one? :)

I'm overseas several months at a time and my CTEK does the job just fine. Switched On & connected 24/7 whilst in my workshop. Set & forget. Never an issue with the battery. Most modern day trickle chargers/battery conditioners are fairly comparable in function and reliability. To the Op, you been given a few good choices, so the balls in your court now :)

I am happy with my C-Tek. Even though it proclaims its Swedish origins on the front of the pack, and Made in China on the back..

But there a a few things you can do to improve your SS charging.

Add a direct earth from the battery to the engine, as well as the original (which goes to the frame, and then to the engine).

If yours has that black non-fusible link behind the battery, you need to eliminate this. If you pull it apart carefully you will have just enough length to make the wires reach directly to the solenoid. An auto electrician may be able to help you with this.

Also look carefully at the connectors from the alternator. These become slack over time and are worth replacing.

With these issues repaired, and a pair of stronger ignition coils (like Dyna or Bosch) it will start, idle and run better than it ever did.

And you may find your charging issues disappear also.
