Looking to replace supercorsa pro as it is destroyed in 1200 miles while running in.

Anyone tried either Corsa III or Pilot Power CT2 if so what sort of mileage are we talking?

Wouldn't mind running Diablo or Pilot road rear but can't get 55 profile yet in either of these.

I just put a Pilot Power 2CT 190/55 tire on 2 weeks ago. It's not quite as sticky as the original, but does real well when the bike is leaned way over because of the dual compound. I looked everywhere for a Corsa III or a Diablo SuperCorsa and couldn't find one - everyone's response was "not available/they're on backorder" - Unbelievable. I am very happy with the 2CT's.

Try http://www.motoxoutlet.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWCATS&Category=337
or www.ChaparralMotorsports.com. These two companies have by far the cheapest deals I've found on tires. Try to find a small local shop to do the mounting. I take my wheels off and get the tires mounted for $20. The dealer will charge you $80. I got a set of Dunlop Qualifiers from Moto X for $260 including shipping, and they work great. Also try Sandhillspowersports.com. They have good deals on Corsa III's too, which I heard are great, and they are available.

I like Michelins on my bikes. Pilot Powers work well on the track/street. My brother in law runs the 2ct tires and loves them (R6). I have had no problem with my Pirelli's on the 1098. They stick like glue.........

I haven't been, and don't plan to be in the rain on them.........

I got 2500 miles out of the first OEM rear. Replaced it with the same and got 2000 miles. I have about 500 miles on a Corsa III and am very happy with it so far. Very good cornering traction for someone at my relatively low ability.

So do you think it's just plain not as sticky...or does it take more time to heat up?

I was hearing that the corsa III's are mostly track tires so I guess they would be nearly as sticky as OEM's.
Pilot power are 90% road so I am guessing they may not be as sticky but last longer than Corsa III's?

You just changed my mind...

Instead this will probably be my next set. Thanks, and keep an eye out for a post from me on a tire guide.

corsa3s reach optimum temp around 70c procorsas around 90c (the pros are more track orientated than corsas )

cheers paul

Put on a Pilot Power 2CT 190-55 last week, the supercorsapro did 4800 km.

I must say PP-2CT is not as sticky as the supercorsapro but milage will be a lot higher I think, for the occasional track day, they will do. Pics attached, the 2CT looks a lot larger. It's a lot of tyre on the bike.

If I could get 3000 miles out of the rear SC Pro I wouldn't want to change it.

I don't see what the problem is with running different manufacturers tyres front to rear, some combinations are not going to work but others will, what's so different from running different carcase designs from the same manufacturer ie SC pro front Corsa III rear?
I have not seen any rider on the road that is getting anywhere near the limits of the tyres where carcase differences may cause a problem.

There was an article in Cycleworld (I think) reviewing the Supercorsa's. They said that the recommended pressure for hot track days was 25psi. Anyone know what the recommendations are for different temps?

This seems very low from the DOT and Slicks Ive run from Mich and Dunlop - whose recommendations were generally 28-31 depending on the temp (and front vs rear - usually a pound higher for front then rear).
