Good question. Rare as rocking horse shit around here, but they do exist I've been told.
I once knew a drop dead gorgeous chick who rode a Guzzi. Yes Mandy, that's you I am talking about (if you happen to read this)

Droool....Ducati + Girl = Nubile

Actually my local spare parts chicky (never met but spoke on the phone) rode a Paul Smart replica and she traded it in on an 848. Hello Karen!
Funny story - I had a fairing stay on order, it came in and she was meant to post it. She had it in her backpack to take to the post office but forgot and headed home instead. Apparently if you don't zip up your backpack and then do 170kmh along the highway, things can be violently ejected from said backpacks. LOL. So my fairing stay is lying by the side of the road somewhere between Blacksoil & Fernvale. If you see it, that's mine.

I can say that in the Netherlands there are pretty much female riders.

The statistics say that in 2007 in the Netherlands 28% of the driving-licenses for a motor are female.

My wife rides a Honda 954RR. :)

brett, had a think about the female bike riders i know..both thru the shop and outside of it

there are about 10 'monster' lady customers ..ranging from 600's to S2R 1000,
3>(robyn, margaret, and a docq member whose name escapes me) >SS900 ladies,
one scrambler lady named 'cappy'
lyn the 916 lady,
hiroko and i on the 848's

then out of shop, lyndal the motoguzzi lady and sarah who is a local of my lil town>
unsure what she road rides, but shes into dirt and motard riding..
both of these lovely ladies are remarkable, because they both rode up until about a month of giving birth!!...
sarah cracked me up one day..when she said 'thats it, ive just done my last 4 hour mt.glorius loop...coz my tummy hurts...its now resting on the tank when i ride'..she gave birth 4 weeks later..

um, about 5 lady riders from my posty days...amongst them the most memorable are..
jade>who rides a ktm, and is a dirt riding nut, and
>michelle drags her bike at willowbank
and ive just recently met a lass online who also drags her (pink) bike, also at willowbank,
and is learning stunt riding..

oh, i forgot that mrs sheikyabootie...is a monster rider, but i havent met her yet..:)

so ...we're out there...the sisters!!!

It's got to be the US due to population and %. I'm seeing more female riders than ever, even in dirt bike riding. In fact, there's so much pink apparel it's starting to make me crazy.

You have to remember to put the zipper on one side of the backpack, not at the top...it will fly open and everything goes!

er,ermm, yea that was me..i ermm had a backpack with a dodgey zipper..left it partially open and it came open at high speed when the wind tucked in underneath it...it had been okay before on the paul smart, with its slightly different (a little more upright +raisers) riding angle..
and yeah as brett said...i was speeding at the time..testing out the new toy:eek:head down, bum up..and paying no attention to what was happening with the backpack>only ahead and occasional mirrors

yer, i got my arse kicked severely over that one..as well as bretts part, i also lost a few other precious (ducati dealership) items of mail, banking details, etc,etc..tha ol boy was not impressed..needless to say that bag got chucked out ...pronto

dont know how you'd work out numbers of female riders per country..other than access to licensing info..
or published stats..
guessin china would have a shit load..
but who cares really?
its just great that more women are out and about on bikes of all descriptions..:yo:

yea, umm, basis of thought there is that the asian road-ways are far more congested..lived in malaysia as a kid, and bikes where everywhere..most common form of transport..and yes theyre the little ones...how could you count the amount of women licensed and riding there?..its a boggle..

daboogah....you should have chased her!!...she may have blown you away even, and she probably would have loved it....:D:D:p

its way cool meeting other lady riders, spoke to a new 1100s monster, lady owner on the phone today...she is madly in love with her new baby..
and as a female rider > have much to share other lady riders, and much in common..always always, make a point of talking to 'em in the real, wherever and whatever the circumstances....
have never been snubbed by another lady rider..in real time..
been snubbed by two in here tho...and that sucks!!(not you cduc..:) )

sorry about the pink apparel shittin you off cduc, guess its just marketing guys getting a hold of the gist of gals on bikes, and maximizing opportunity in a new-ish demographic..some of the girls love it too..so why not?
the ducati desmopassion pink tee, is the only pink clothing i own..but, i make up for that with this...teehee:D

Pink looks good on you tightywhitey! I just can't do pink with my red 848. :) And, I ride dirt, too, and pink doesn't work on the little Honda either. Rode my hubby's 1098 the other day and loved it. I wish I hard the skill to pop that front wheel up. Oh, to be young again with no fear....

Pietah you might b right but to dismiss others opinions in such a aggressive manner just takes away from your arguement. Im not sayin your not right; i have to older sisters and both now have children and when pregnant were told that they would be ok if they continued there activities, soccer in this case, for the first month of the pregnancy but after that they should probably quit. Like I said just dont shut out everyone elses opinions so quick and you probably wouldnt come off as such a dick

sorry for harping on about this one guys..
but i worked out why i was so pissed off about all of this..this part of this statement..its cut me to the core.

hope she didnt give birth to a little mongol..
omg..

no she/they didnt..

********* is a common name for 'downs syndrome'..which is a chromosomal disorder..
not caused by motorcycle riding in any way

your ignorance and references to mongol and retardation and pregnant women, all in one spitting rant.. makes me want to cry

triblackville,
i worked for 17 years for a national, part government,
part privatised corporation, in an industry where motorcycles are used for approx 3 hours per day, five days a week..did this part of the job for 14/17 years..

thousands of men do this job and there are thousands of other women that do the same job,and women get pregnant..

the corporation's medical and compensation policies for women who become pregnant whilst doing this job, is normal full duties for the first trimester,
including motorcycle duties, then unpaid maternity leave..most of the girls do this without a problem, unless of course they have underlying medical issues

personally, i would worry more about soccer in the first month for myself...but only and simply because it would be unfamiliar activity for my body..

this has been so upsetting, next time i see lyndal and sarah they will get major hugs from me, and be told all about their evil doings..according to a motorcycle forum
