I am in talks with a seller about a 1098 rear wheel. White letter Marchesini.... so I believe this is just the cast alum wheel.
Wheel looks good, seller promises its straight.

What are these wheels worth? Does the fact it says Marchesini on it bump the price?

I am only looking for a spare set of wheels to keep DOT tires on for street riding/wet track days

Is the rim black or gold in color?

The black cast aluminum ones used run anywhere from $300 to $500, depending on overall condition.

The gold forged ones used run somewhere between $400 to $600, again depending on overall condition.

The stickers themselves don't add value.. ;)

the base 1098 didn't come with Marchesinis as far as I know. They were just cast aluminum. The S models came with Marchesinis and I believe those were forged aluminum, and they're worth more because they're lighter.

I think the base 1098 cast wheels were made by Marchesini. My stock wheels came with Marchesini stickers on them. They were a different spoke design from the forged wheels though.

Ah yes, right you are. After a quick google search, it looks like that is correct.

In this case, the type of wheel is more important than the brand, so to answer the OP's question, having that marchesini sticker on it doesn't add in value if it's just the stock cast aluminum wheel.

Thanks guys.

I ended up buying a wheel from a fellow forum member, as opposed to a parts house on fleabay. It's in perfect shape, and it's a cast alum wheel. Will have it powder coated and mount DOT race tires up for next season. My wheels will become my wet day/street wheels. Now I need to source a front wheel.

Would rather support one of you bastards then someone from fleabay!

Nah...powder coating cures at under 400 degrees F typically. Not high enough to affect the heat treatment of the aluminum. It'll be fine. Many people do it with wheels and have been very successful. But as an alternative, you can always try plasti dip...that way you can peel it right off if you decide you don't like it.
