ride it all year long? at least I do and never worry about winterizing.
typically winterizing only involves battery maintain, oil fresh, and fuel stabilized. with modern tires not really necessary to keep them off the ground, lube all pivots and switches, and if you want to start the bike sometime during the winter break then do me a big favor run it until the bike is HOT and only then let it run some more before turning it off so the spark plugs will stand a chance of not fouling.

lots of information out there on winterizing and just take some with a grain of salt and others treat as gospel...

get a 0wXX or 5wXX oil. it wont be as thick as the 10,15 or 20w at start up and will be a lot easier on the engine or winterize your life and move to florida :)
