LOOKING TO BUY OR TRADE
I have a 1997 916 SPS and the prior owner installed a Ferracci carbon fiber headlight bucket and carbon fiber fairing/mirror supports. These were installed in 1998. I am not sure what mileage the bike had on it when these were installed, but the bike only has about 1,500 miles on it now so I would guess that these carbon fiber parts have only seen about 1,000 miles of action. They are in pristine condition. I have a receipt from Ferracci dated 7/16/98 in which the prior owner paid $600 for these three pieces from Ferracci.
What I am looking for is a pristine oem gold headlight bucket and oem gold fairing supports. I am returning the bike back to original and I want the numbers to match with regards to date codes. The headlight bucket has a two digit date code in the casting...I am looking for a 94, 95, or 96 date code. So basically if you own and 1995, 1996, or 1997 916 you should have the date code I am looking for.
I haven't found any pristine used parts floating around....parts that are already off the bike seem to all have some amount of cosmetic damage (due to a bike incident or due to storage scars). So my thought is that somebody with a 1995, 1996, or 1997 916 in mint condition with the oem headlight bucket and fairing supports still mounted on the bike might be interested in a swap. I'd trade even up...you cover the shipping cost to send the oem parts to me and I cover the shipping cost to send the carbon fiber parts to you.
If you have a pristine bike and are interested send me a pm. Again, I am really looking for some near perfect parts in original condition with original paint....ideally these would be still mounted to a low mileage bike rather than floating around in a spare parts box somewhere.
