Hey guys. I purchased the dianese racing jacket from motowheels last oct. this jacket has metal plates on the shoulders held in by 3 tiny Allen bolts. It seems one of the studs has been ripped out of the shoulder.

The jacket isn't even a year old and I treat my gear very well and it's never been down. So before I try and just glue the stud back in any one have any suggestions. I sent an email to motowheels yesterday since this is where I bought it but i haven't gotten a response yet. After a pair of gloves only lasting 3000 miles and this happening to my jacket I can say that I won't be purchasing anything else dianese.

Could be worse. 3 sets of Fieldshier pants (two were replacements) averaged less than 50 miles before they were tearing. Dianese is supposed to have a much better rep for durability than this?

Damn really? I used to buy vanson they usually have a tent sale every summer. They will measure you and get you the best fit. I just wanted dianese jacket for the days I don't want to wear full gear. Ive had icon and joe rocket leather jackets last longer. I know that the jacket really doesn't use a problem but why bother putting metal plates on a jacket if they will fall off without even crashing in it. Maybe when the plate was installed it was over tightened but I havent messed with them at all. The money spent on the dianese could of had 2 vanson jackets.

Good to hear of solid customer service! :)

Had that happen three times on three separate jackets, the last one blew off while riding somewhere. My dealer contacted Ducati and got them to issue credit again for the jacket, just sent it in today. Nothing like having a good relationship with your dealer.

Same here, have a set of full metal racer pro's and the palms have completely deteriorated. I spoke to the dainese rep at Laguna and he said next years line up has a new leather in the palm area which should handle the sweat better. We shall see.

I have the Avro racing leather jacket and the pads are already loose. I just purchased in june. Fortunately there is a Dainese D store close by. This is my first racing jacket. I love the fit & look. I want to move into the 1 piece suit but after hearing all the concerns I'm thinking otherwise. This stuff is expensive to be shitty quality. I'm hoping this isnt the norm. U think w/ such history of great Italian designers they'd be able to sort it out. That'd be like buttons falling off your Armani suit, or the heel separates on your ferragamo's

I'd love to get on the group buy for the us ricondi gloves. With work being real slow and my son turning one I don't think the wife would approve right now. I have around 4k miles on a set of dainese gloves and they are completely trashed middle and index finger on both gloves are both destroyed and the palms are the same. I've had textile gloves last longer than this trash.
the jacket dainese has had it over a month. Starting to think I should of just glued the stud back in myself.

I've been looking for those little allen bolts that hold down the shoulder plates for a year now. Nobody has helped me. I called Dainese and since it's a ''Ducati Dainese'' jacket it has NOTHING to do with Dainese. They said call DNA. Uh.....ok?

So then I called DNA and the guy I spoke to couldn't have cared less. He said to call Dainese. I don't know if the guy had to take a shit or something but he couldn't have gotten rid of me fast enough.

Then I got the Dainese warranty email info from someone at Pro Italia and emailed some guy named Art. I explained what I needed and sent pictures too. It would take that clown 2 weeks to answer every email I sent him. Then I would wait and wait and wait for the screws to show up and then nothing. Mind you he said he was going to have the screws sent to me and I would be billed.

This went on for months. Then I called the Dainese store down in Costa Mesa and asked if they could help me. Once this manager got on the phone I once again explained that all I needed was the two tiny little allen bolts for my jacket, that's it. This manager was such a prick that I considered driving all the way down there. This guy had some nerve. After going through the whole gamut again, he literally said ''Screws?.. What?...Ugh....Sigh...What do you want?

Fuck it, I give up.

Call Anthony today and paid $10 for the screws and nuts. According to what he says, it isn't that simple as said. If the nuts were out of place, you cannot bolt on.... I just order the screws and give it a try..... Stupid Dainese design the jackets like that, how is the armor going to protect you if it already fall off? errr

BTW, I did find the spcial driver that work with the screws haha lucky.

Andrew,

I have the correct screwdriver for these screws, but the nuts under the armor is where the problem. According to Anthoy, the nuts were held by some kind of plastic and the plastic might break if over tighten the screws.. which I did on one of them last night lol

Like I said, the worse is insert the screw in place and crazy glue it!! darn!

Well going on 2 months now with out my jacket for what looked like an easy fix. Dainese told motowheels it looked like the plate was snagged on something and pulled out. I don't know what could snag on it since the plate was recessed in the shoulder so there is no edge to snag. I had told them from the start I was not missing the screw that the whole piece pulled out. Still have no clue how it happened all I can think of is the jacket was folded up and this caused the stud to pop out. But still 2 months to fix it was half that time for my custom suit from vanson. Completely disappointed in the durability of the jacket and aparently their warranty/repair department is not any better. Well lesson learned.
