I was thinking about painting the frame this winter if it was even possible. I always disregarded the idea because I think it would be labor intensive, however so many people seem to want to do it. Does anyone know how much it would cost???

do you want to paint it or powder coat it? I got a quote of 250 to blast prep and powder coat my buell frame, swingarm, and triple. They also told me that certain colors are cheaper, matt and satin black were a tiny bit cheaper then glossy black, and red was the most expensive since you had to buy a certain quantity, not sure what the reason for that is. hope this helps
we painted the frame on our brand new streetfighter the day after we picked it up from the dealer. There was a ton of unbolting, unclipping, and rerouting to be done but all in all it is doable with time and a way to hold the motor once everything is seperated. As long as you have patience and time it is a possible project. We did paint ours and it holds up well but powdercoat isn't a bad idea either.
And are you pulling the frame yourself? That would REALLY save you some money. Labor for remove and replace on a frame is right around 1400 dollars at a dealer.
that totally blows dude. Im sorry for ya. I can see how it would be so expensive tho. I replaced the wireing harness on my current duc last winter and that thing was a massive pain. I thought about getting my frame anadozed to match my wheels but after routing the wires for a good three days I decided I like my grey frame.
Are you gonna get the frame repainted, powdercoated?
I would love to do it myself this winter but I have no time.... ughhhhh I guess this isnt going to happen lol..... maybe the swingarm... thats duable...
yeah thats a pretty labor intensive job painting the frame. could you get a couple of carbon frame covers and paint them? it aint full coverage but it may give you the effect you want
First off thanks for the photoshop I had no time.... ends up I like it in black whatever... my dream of changing my frame color probably will never happen. I should have bought the white 2010 1198s that i was looking at..... too bad It would have been delivered to the dealer after the summer! Anyways and thanks.... and I kind of feel bad for this dwayne character.
