I cant say much about Spidi jackets but I wear Astars and I have been since I started riding street bikes 13 years ago. I love Astars the quality is excellent and they hold up superbly in a crash as well. I think youll find most guys on the forum wear a variety of brands but alot wear Astars though. Congrats on the new bike enjoy your 1098

I have Spidi leathers, both jacket and pants and have to say I haven't seen anything else with better construction or fit.

I had to order direct from Italy but it was well worth it.
I used to have a Spidi suit and even their mid line suit was a lot better than Alpinestars Race Replica. (I'm wearing the Spidi Slider Wind in my avatar). Bought it from Hard Racing and by far the best/comfortable suit, non kangaroo suit I've owned!

It such a bummer that both LP and MotoNation both dropped them b/c they made some high quality gear! Kneedraggers is the only current US distributor and now Western Powersports was just aquired but they havent gotten anything yet!

As much as I'd like to give Dainese the respect they deserve, their euro fitment and substantionally higher prices make me look elsewhere.

My buddy had a shop and wanted to carry the Dainese lineup. The rep mentioned something about how he has to buy about 30K worth of merchandise before he could stock them in his showroom. :jerkoff:

I have the Vanson Mark II Cobra jacket - it's the best. Read my review here: http://www.ducatispot.com/forums/showthread.php?t=12150&highlight=vanson+mark
I used to have that same jacket too and even though it doesn't get that hot here in SoCal, I thought that jacket sucks! Sold mine after 3 months...

Maybe if it was the 70/80's all over again, it would be good but with all the technology these days, that thing has nothing to offer but a yellow Vanson patch on the shoulders.

The front has full perforation but since you can't remove the inner liner and is made out of the thickest cowhide, it's like sitting in a sauna, even when it's 65 degrees outside!

That thing was so damn heavy, comes with no CE armor, unless you bought it separately and the collar isn't the most comfortable thing, esp when it's riding up your neck.
